Moving Forward Together

Owatonna Public Schools logo with grad cap over O, Inspiring Excellence Every Learner Every Day

Owatonna Public Schools is focused on strengthening communication, deepening trust, and ensuring our community has meaningful opportunities to learn, ask questions, and engage in the important work shaping our district’s future.

To support this commitment, OPS is launching Moving Forward Together, a series of in-person community engagement sessions designed to provide updates, gather feedback, and create space for thoughtful conversations about our budget, survey results, and long-term planning.

Each session will highlight a key area and offer opportunities for dialogue with Superintendent Tammy Champa along with additional district leadership.

Currently scheduled meetings will all be held at the District Office, 333 East School Street. Please enter through the doors on Grove Avenue. All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Moving Forward Together will begin with finance/budget conversations that include a budget presentation and time for questions and answers.

  • Wednesday, December 10 at 6:30pm
  • Friday, December 12 at 8:00am (Coffee & Conversation)
  • Tuesday, January 6 at 6:30pm

The second focus of the series will be the School Perceptions Survey administered in October. It will include a presentation focused on the parent, student and staff survey insights that will guide the district’s next steps, along with time for questions and answers.

  • Thursday, January 8 at 8:00am (Coffee & Conversation)
  • Monday, January 12 at 6:30pm
  • Wednesday, January 14 at 6:30pm

Finance and budget refinement will be the third topic and will include a budget presentation and time for questions and answers in February–dates will be announced at a later time.

March will include the State of the District and a refined action plan informed by feedback, data and community input.
