Stronger Together: One Pack, One Purpose.

The beginning of a new school year is always special. It is a time filled with anticipation, fresh possibilities, and the excitement of welcoming our students back into our classrooms. From my very first year as a teacher to my 17th year serving as a superintendent, that excitement has never changed. Each year brings a renewed sense of purpose and a new opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we do so with a shared commitment to this year’s theme: Stronger Together: One Pack, One Purpose. 

Being part of the Owatonna Public Schools community means being part of our Husky family. From our youngest learners in Early Childhood Family Education to adults returning to the classroom through Adult Education, from our preschool students and kindergartners experiencing their first days of school to our seniors preparing for their next chapter, every learner has a place in our Pack—and every member of our community has a role in helping them thrive.

We invite our families and community to be part of the journey. Attend conferences and school events. Volunteer. Cheer on our students at athletic events and performances. Encourage curiosity, celebrate growth, and stay connected to your child’s school. Most importantly, help our students know that they are surrounded by people who believe in them and want to see them succeed.

When we come together around a common purpose, we create more than successful schools… we create a stronger community.

I am honored to serve Owatonna Public Schools and excited for the year ahead. Thank you for being an important part of our Pack and for helping make Owatonna a community where every learner can thrive.
