Resident Enrollment

If you are a new resident family of Owatonna Public Schools, or an approved open enrolled family, click the button below to begin the enrollment process.

Please use a computer (not a mobile device) to complete the enrollment form.

Information required to complete the enrollment process:

  1. Address and phone number of residence
  2. Immunizations records for each child
  3. Student records from previous school (if available)
  4. Name, address, telephone and fax number of the last school attended
  5. Birth certificate or official certificate of age (kindergarten enrollment only)
  6. Family income information or food stamp (SNAP) case number (if applying for educational benefits)

Address verification is required for school district resident students within 30 days of submitting an enrollment application or address change. Any recent documentation listed below displaying your name and residence will be accepted:

  • Any bill or financial statement

    • Utility bill (electricity, gas, garbage, water, or sewer)

    • Cable TV or internet bill

    • Phone bill

    • Bank statement

    • Property tax bill

    • Mortgage statement

  • Lease or rental agreement showing your name and residence address

  • Valid driver's license or state ID card. Military, government, university, or recognized corporate ID

Please make sure to submit address verification documentation by uploading it into your enrollment application, emailing it to enrollment@isd761.org, or dropping off a physical copy at Roosevelt Community School (122 E McKinley St).

Additional Information

  • In Minnesota, children are eligible to attend kindergarten when they are five years old on or before September 1 of the calendar year school starts.
  • Information about transportation can be found on the Owatonna Bus Company website.
  • Resident students' elementary school is determined by their primary address. 
  • Student handbooks are available on each school website.
  • Grades 6-12: someone from your school office will contact you to set up an appointment with a school counselor to discuss topics including academic schedules.
