Financial Reports

The Owatonna Public Schools Business Services Department ensures that our financial management systems run efficiently and effectively. 

• Over 75% of the district budget goes directly into classroom learning.
• 3% of the school district budget is spent on school and district administration. The state average is 5%.
• Owatonna's operating levy is $556 per student,  second to the bottom in the Big 9 Conference (see chart below).

Owatonna Public Schools has been awarded the prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for 33 years in a row. This honor recognizes school districts that uphold the highest standards of financial reporting and transparency.
